Upper Woodford Valley, Wiltshire Avon

This beautiful private house beat offers approximately 1/2 mile of main river Avon fishing on the true right bank through the stunning grounds and riverbank below.  There are plenty of wild brown trout as well as some carefully stocked browns that have over wintered and grown very large. These large trout for which this section is famed have grown on in the river, over the seasons.  The estate operates a catch and release policy for the larger trout and all wild fish (trout and grayling).  The upper river Avon enjoys a very good mayfly hatch that lasts from mid May right through to July!  The fish on this beat feed avidly from the surface and dry fly action is generally excellent.  There is a fishing shelter with some outside furniture as well as tea and coffee facilities.  Fishing from 15th April to 30th September.  2 rod minimum booking in mayfly.  Occasionally single rod booking available in summer and late season.

This beat can be combined with the Wilsford Manor beat to accommodate groups of 6 rods.  Please ask for details.
