The fly fishing history at Barton Court runs deep, nestled in beautiful water meadows between Newbury and Hungerford, this section of the famous river Kennet was fished by fly fishing’s forefathers such as Halford, Marryat and Skues.  The Estate offers over 3 miles of riverbank with main river, carriers and side streams, giving lovely, varied fishing for all abilities.  The mayfly hatches here are thick and often longer in season than those of the Test and Itchen.  The estate caters for day rods, offering a base in a newly renovated shepherd’s hut.  Or, offers exclusive use days to groups of anglers offering a base in the estate’s well-appointed riverside fishers’ hut.  The perfect spot to entertain friends or clients.
